MicronTracker, our first measurement product line, is a family of real-time sub-millimeter optical pose tracking products.

MicronTrackers use real-time stereoscopic vision to detect and track the pose (location and orientation) of specially marked objects. Unlike older generations of trackers, which rely on custom infrared light emission, MicronTracker products are fully passive, using computer vision to process standard video images. The objects are marked using small checkered target regions called Xpoints.

MicronTracker cameras connect to the host PC using a standard IEEE-1394 (FireWire) interface. Multiple cameras may be simultaneously activated to create a larger field of measurement and/or reduce line-of-sight interruptions.

The first product in the line is MicronTracker 2. Two models are currently available, S60 and H40, differentiated by the size of their field of measurement (FOM), tracking rate and price. This product line is optimized and certified for use in medical applications, although it is highly flexible and suitable for use in any application where accurate and reliable optical tracking of objects is required.
